Committees
Organizations of significance function successfully
through the efforts of their committees. We encourage
you to become involved in one of the Chamber's
Committees.
Agri Business
Acts as a liaison between the agricultural and business
communities, promoting a better understanding of and
appreciation for agriculture in Western Montana and
encouraging the Ag Community to do business in the
Missoula area. Puts together the Annual Agri-Business
Banquet and works with the Missoula County Extension
Office on the Livestock Extravaganza.

Governmental Affairs
We advocate for the success of area businesses by
evaluating regulatory and legislative issues, educating
our constituents about government affairs, and
developing positions to influence public policy.

Opportunity Resources
Forest Resources
Increases communication between timber-related
businesses and educates the public regarding responsible
and sustainable forest management and promotes the
importance of forestry and forest products within the
community. Coordinates the annual Timber Tour which
allows community members to get out and see the industry
first hand and also organizes Forest Discovery Days,
which educates over 400 5th-7th graders on the Timber
Industry and forest maintenance.

Health and Human Services
To increase public awareness by providing an opportunity
for communication and education regarding issues such as
health, safety and the environment among Missoula's
business community, health care community and the
general public. The committee will strive to continue
and enhance the projects that have been developed.
Sheila Callahan - Chair

Leadership Missoula
Leadership Missoula is a program designed to take 42
future Missoula leaders and facilitate and develop the
growth of those individuals. We provide the class an
excellent opportunity to interact with different
community members and an outlet to explore community
issues. Leadership Missoula class members begin their
experience with an overnight beginning retreat, which is
then followed by 8 all day sessions. The year closes
with an overnight ending retreat in May. Graduates of
the class will then be responsible for organizing the
next year's sessions. Leadership Missoula has graduated
over 800 individuals many of which are now involved in
politics, education, community events, non-profits and
much more.

Act as a liaison for the Chamber of Commerce to new
or expanding businesses through ribbon cutting
ceremonies and providing information regarding Chamber
activities and services.

Red Coats
Serves as the public relations arm of the Chamber in
an effort to increase the Chamber of Commerce's
visibility at community events. Participates as hosts at
Business After Hours and the Parade of Homes,
coordinates the annual Red Ripper Golf Tournament, and
assists with the St. Patrick's Day and Homecoming
Parade. (Limited Membership)

Serves as a resource for Chamber members in the

environment, compliance with applicable laws and control
of costly workplace accident losses.

Helps businesses within the group grow their
