Forest Discovery Days

The 13th Annual Forest Discovery Days was a huge success.  The Chamber's Forest Resource Committee hosted over 450 area students at the 2009 Forest Discovery Days held at the Pattee Canyon Recreation Area May 6th, May 7th and May 8th. 
It is always such a pleasure to work with the schools to teach our children the important role that forestry and responsible management plays in their everyday life and community.

Forest Discovery Days would not be possible with out the dedication of resource professionals, amazing sponsors and a dedicated committee.

Forest Discovery Days is a program designed to educate our youth about forest health issues and has hosted over 3,000 5th & 7th grade area students to date.  The event features activities and presentations on fire ecology, wildlife management, forest management,  and history.  
This year's students were from Bonner, Lolo, Franklin, Lowell, Cold Springs, Target Range, St. Joseph, Lewis and Clark, Hawthorne and Chief Charlo.
