SPECIAL EVENTS
Forest Discovery Days
This year, the Chamber
Forest Resource Committee hosted over 400 area 5th grade
students at the 16th Annual Forest Discovery Days held at
the Pattee Canyon Recreation Area.
The three-day event turned out to be a huge success with
great reviews from the classes that participated.
This three day event, sponsored by local businesses, educates
the youngsters about fire ecology, wildlife management, timber
harvesting, tree planting and features several demonstrations of
forest management in action.
Over 40 forest resource professionals donate their time and
knowledge each year to this youth learning event.
Thank you to the committee, presenters, tour guides and all those
involved for volunteering their time and knowledge for this
wonderful event. In
addition, its always such a pleasure to work with the schools to
teach our children the important role that forestry and responsible
management plays in their everyday life and community.
Forest Discovery Days would not be possible with out the dedication
of resource professionals, amazing sponsors and a dedicated
