Program Information

Goals of Leadership Missoula

  • To identify and motivate potential leaders

  • To acquaint these potential leaders with community needs and problems, while offering them alternatives for dealing with these issues

  • To give potential leaders an opportunity to meet past and present leaders, to associate in a meaningful way wit their peers, and to be motivated toward greater involvement

  • To supplement the training received by these potential leaders in such a way as to maximize their contributions to their sponsoring organization.

Selection Criteria & Application Process

  • Anyone engaged in career or other endeavor and having an interest in community affairs is invited to apply.

  • 40-45 individuals are annually selected to participate in the program. Candidates will be selected with a view toward establishing a diverse mix of ages, professions, activities and outlooks as evidenced on the applications.

  • Tuition for 2010-2011 is $1,100 for Chamber Members and $1,500 for non-Chamber members.   Your tuition fee is payable upon notification of selection and must be paid in full before the beginning retreat. This fee covers the costs of the beginning and ending retreats, meals, materials and group transportation. Tuition is nonrefundable after August 26, 2011.

  • A $25.00 deposit must accompany all applications prior to June 15th.  After June 15th a $50.00 deposit is required. This deposit will be applied towards your tuition if selected and will be refunded if not selected. The deposit will not be refunded to anyone who is selected but cancels after August 26, 2011.

  • A limited number of partial scholarships are available. Typically these are awarded to nonprofit organizations or individuals not affiliated with a business.  See application for further scholarship details.
