Jon Sears

A&E SMA Design

A Montana native, Jon Sears grew up in Kalispell and eventually made his way back to western Montana after living and working in several parts of the country. He earned a degree in Mining Engineering from Montana Tech and has spent more than 25 years working in the construction industry. Jon began his career in Texas with a large subcontractor before moving to Alaska, where he worked for a general contractor on remote projects across the state. He later moved to the owner's side of the industry with the City of Vancouver, Washington. Jon is currently an Associate Principal and Construction Project Manager for A&E + SMA Design, where he leads the firm's construction management team and works with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors on construction projects throughout Montana. His experience on multiple sides of the industry has shaped a collaborative approach to project management and leadership. Jon is a certified Project Management Professional and serves on the Missoula Development Authority board. Jon and his wife, Marika, live in Missoula with their son, Rowan. Outside of work, Jon enjoys fly fishing, hunting, running, mountain biking, skiing, camping, rafting, and traveling with his family. He is happiest outside, preferably somewhere involving a river, trail, or campfire.
